TheRBTExam.com is a free study platform for candidates preparing for the Registered Behavior Technician® certification exam. Every practice test, domain quiz, flashcard set, and study guide is built around the BACB RBT Task List (3rd Edition), the same framework Pearson VUE uses to build the real exam. No login, no email wall, no paid tier.

Why the site is free

Candidates entering ABA already pay for a 40-hour training course, a $65 BACB application fee, and a $45 Pearson VUE seat. Practice tests largely determine whether you pass, so putting them behind a subscription puts the paywall in the wrong place. The site is supported by advertising, which has no influence on our content.

How our questions are written

  • Mapped to the task list first. Each item is written to a specific line in the RBT Task List (3rd Edition), which is why every question carries a domain tag.
  • Scenario-based, not definition-based. The real exam describes a session and asks what you should do. We build questions the same way.
  • Distractors drawn from real confusions. DRA vs DRI, forward vs backward chaining, latency vs inter-response time, extinction burst mistaken for failure.
  • Explanation on every question. If the explanation cannot be written clearly, the question is not published.
  • Checked against the BACB Ethics Code and the current task list before going live.

How we keep content current

We review the full question bank quarterly against the BACB’s published materials. When something changes, affected questions are rewritten or retired. An outdated practice question is worse than none, because it teaches an answer that will be marked wrong.

What we will not do

We do not reproduce live exam questions. Actual RBT exam items are secure content owned by the BACB. Every question here is original, written to the same published blueprint.

We do not guarantee a pass. Candidates who consistently score above 80% on full-length timed exams, across all six domains, tend to be ready.

We do not sell or share your data. The site works without an account for this reason.

What we are not

TheRBTExam.com is independent. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.® or Pearson VUE. We cannot process applications, confirm eligibility, schedule exams, or access score reports.

This site is also not a substitute for your 40-hour training or your Initial Competency Assessment. Both are mandatory BACB requirements completed with an approved provider and a qualified assessor.

Found an error?

If a question is scored incorrectly or an explanation is wrong, please contact us. We check every report against the current task list and correct it, usually within five business days.
